MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee (8-39, 2-15 C-USA) travels to Oklahoma for its final Conference USA road series of the 2014 season, playing C-USA leader No. 15 Tulsa (42-5, 15-2 C-USA) April 26-27 for a three-game set at the Collins Family Softball Complex. Saturday features a doubleheader with a 1 p.m. first pitch, while Sunday's concluding game is scheduled for a noon start.

The Blue Raiders recently beat UT Martin April 22, 2-0, earning their first victory since March 23 against LA Tech. In the matchup Tuesday, Shelby Stinnett and Caitlin McClure teamed up for the seven-inning shutout, which is the first in the Jeff Breeden era. Stinnett tossed five and one-third innings, while McClure pitched the final one and two-thirds innings.

Offensively, both Middle Tennessee runs against UTM came unearned. LaRi Mitchell scored the first run on a first and third double-steal attempt, which plated Mitchell from third and advanced Kayla Toney to third. Laura Dukes proceeded to slap a hit at the Skyhawk second baseman, forcing an error and scoring Toney.

Mitchell's team-best 15-game hitting streak came to an end Tuesday as she finished 0-for-2, but her consecutive reached-base streak was extended to 16 games after being walked in the third inning.

Tulsa hosts MT with a 42-5 record and is 17-1 at home this season. The Golden Hurricanes are on a five-game winning streak, which includes a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma State April 23.

Aimee Creger (22-1) brings five C-USA Pitcher of the Week honors into the series and has a team-low 1.12 ERA with 269 strikeouts through 156 and two-thirds innings pitched. Creger has 16 complete games and limits opponents to a .138 batting average. Tulsa's other two pitchers, Bailey Erwin (11-2) and Caitlin Sill (9-2), each combine for the final 20 wins with Erwin possessing a 1.45 ERA and Sill with a 2.28 ERA.

As a team, the Golden Hurricanes have a .339 batting average and are led by Jill Barrett's .447 average. Jill Roye (.371), Cierra Hughes (.364) and Maggie Withee (.354) each have notched a .350 average or higher and are among a group of seven with a .300 average or better. Roye has a team-best 32 RBI, while Hughes leads the team with 27 walks.
