NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Caitlin McClure was named Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Softball Pitcher of the Week today after her performances April 28-May 4.

"Caitlin did a great job this week, pitching in relief and starting two games for us," said head coach Jeff Breeden. "She had all her stuff and controlled batters the entire time she was in the circle. She is a junior and we are looking forward to her having a stellar senior season next year."

The junior tossed 20 and two-thirds innings, while allowing only three earned runs in four appearances with two games started. McClure tossed a career-high eight innings against Belmont May 1, earning the victory after allowing only five hits with one earned run in the 4-3 victory.

Against Florida Atlantic May 3-4, the Lilburn, Ga., native pitched a total of six and one-third innings of relief in two games and started the second game of the doubleheader May 3. McClure tossed three innings of work in the first game of the series, while allowing no earned runs with three strikeouts.

To conclude Saturday she tossed the first six innings in the second contest and allowed only one earned run to the Owls. In the final game of the series, McClure pitched the final three and two-thirds innings and surrendered only one earned run.
