Jones off to good start in NBA Summer League

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Blue Raider Shawn Jones got off to a spectacular start in his first NBA Summer League game with the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday evening.
The 2013-14 Conference USA Player of the Year registered eight points and seven rebounds in the contest vs. the Chicago Bulls in his Summer League debut and recorded 20:04 minutes of playing time; the most minutes among non-starters. To add to his strong start in play, Jones grabbed two steals in the loss to the Bulls.
Jones' thunderous dunk with 35.7 left in the the first quarter brought the Clippers within two and was his sixth point of the game after an inbound pass from Armon Johnson.
In his 2013-14 senior season with MT Jones averaged 14.2 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game in route to leading the Blue Raiders to sharing the regular season title.
The Clippers next Summer League match-up is Monday, July 14th at 7:30 p.m. CT and can be watched live on NBA Summer League Live online.
