Lady Raiders Defeat ULL 90-59
February 28, 2002 · MT Media RelationsThe outcome of the game was really never in doubt, as the Lady Raiders reeled off a 17-4 run in the first six minutes of the game. With a convincing halftime score of 45-27, ULL shot a frosty 33.3 percent from the field, while the Lady Raiders shot 50 percent.
It was a group effort for the Lady Raiders as everybody played, and everyone but junior Mia Parvianien made it into the scoring column. Keisha McClinic got her second start in a row and tied her season high in scoring with 17 points.
McClinic was one of four Middle Tennessee players in double figure scoring. Sophomore Jennifer Justice led the Lady Raiders with 17 points, while Jamie Thomatis had 14 and freshman Tiffany Fisher had 10 points.
Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Patrice Holmes just missed her second double double of the year with a career high 13 rebounds and nine points. She also led the team in assists with eight.
Prior to the game sophomore Keisha McClinic was named to the Sun Belt Academic All-Conference Team. Juniors Parvianien and Paula Pentilla were named to the Commissioner's List.
Middle Tennessee will meet number two seed from the West Denver on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Lakefront Arena.
