MT Media Relations

SEASON ENDS: The Blue Raiders season came to an end with the loss to New Mexico State, giving the squad a 14-15 record. The team's 14 wins are a nine game improvement over last season and the most that the team has tallied since recording 15 in the 1999-00 campaign.

ANDERSON HAS OUTSTANDING TOURNEY: Charles Anderson capped off an outstanding tournament with a season high 15-point effort against New Mexico State. Anderson also tallied nine points against South Alabama to give him 24 for the tournament to pace the team in that regard. For Anderson, his scoring output against NMSU marks the first time that he has led the team in points

MEDIA RUNDOWN: Three Blue Raiders made appearances in the post game interview area during the tournament. Lee Nosse was requested following both games while Tommy Gunn visited with the media on Friday while John Humphrey was requested on Sunday night. Charles Anderson was the Blue Raider network's guest following each game and Jermale Wilkerson made an appearance on Friday night.

RADIO SHOW POSTPONED: Monday's scheduled coaches radio show featuring Randy Wiel and Stephany Smith has been postponed due to tournament play. The show, which airs from Toot's Restaurant each week, will return to the airwaves the following week.

TV SHOW ALSO POSTPONED: Randy Wiel's final TV show of the season will be pushed back one week due to the Sun Belt Tournament. The show will air the following week (March 12) on Comcast Sports Southeast at 5:30 PM.

QUOTES

Head Coach Randy Wiel
I thought the game was pretty evenly played in the first half, but Channing and Mason got open for three straight 3-pointers and that was really the difference in the game.

Center Lee Nosse
We came out and they knew what they wanted to do on defense. I take my hat off to them because they were the better team out there today.

Guard John Humphrey
They doubled down on Lee and he kicked it out to the open man and we just couldn't knock down the open shots.
