MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The 29th-ranked Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders dropped a 4-3 decision to the 38th-ranked Miami (FL) Hurricanes Monday night in Coral Gables, Fla., dropping the doubles point and singles matches at Nos. 1, 5 and 6.

The Blue Raiders (13-3) have dropped three of their last four matches over the last two weeks.

The 14th-ranked doubles pairing of Robert Gustafsson and Oliver Foreman lost at No. 1 doubles, but 56th-rated Kirk Jackson and Daniel Klemetz won at No. 3. Michael Staniak and Trevor Short lost 9-8 at No. 2, giving the homestanding Hurricanes the doubles point.

Twelth-ranked Todd Widom defeated 85th-rated Gustafsson at No. 1 singles, but Klemetz, Foreman and Staniak all picked up straight set victories for the Blue Raiders at Nos. 2-4. Jackson lost a straight set decision at No. 5 before Short's 7-6, 7-6 defeat at No. 6 gave Miami the victory.

"We've hit a little lull here as a team and we've got to figure out what's going on," Middle Tennessee head coach Dale Short said. "That may involve shaking up the lineup in singles and doubles, but we've got to figure some things out."

The Blue Raiders travel to take on Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., on April 2, before hosting South Alabama and Louisiana-Lafayette on April 5 and 7, respectively. All three of next week's opponents for Middle Tennessee are currently ranked.
