MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's 4x400m relay team set a school record for the second time in three weeks Friday morning in the event preliminaries at the 75th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

The Lady Raider team of freshmen Kishara George, Lanora Gray and Rosemary Okafor, and junior Bromeka Holmes set the mark in 3:39.35, 1.45 seconds faster than what the four ran at the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on March 23. The relay advances to Saturday afternoon's event final at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.

The Blue Raider 4x100m and 4x400m relay also advanced to Saturday's event finals. The 4x100m team of DJ Spann, Mardy Scales, Wesley Dupar-Scott and Godfrey Herring posted a time of 40.15, the seventh fastest mark among 36 teams in Friday's prelims. The 4x400m squad of Dupar-Scott, Spann, Rob Jordan and Herring ran 3:09.40, fourth fastest among 29 teams.

A dozen Middle Tennessee athletes are competing in the Texas Relays this weekend, with the rest of the Blue Raider and Lady Raider squads taking part in Saturday's Yellowjacket Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
