General: Primarily a reliever at Mississippi State, but will be given every opportunity to nail down a spot in the starting rotation this season.

Mississippi State: Compiled an 8-8 career mark with 15 saves in 66 appearances over three seasons for the Bulldogs ... Struck out 119 in 133.2 innings with 4.11 ERA ... Compiled 3-0 record with three saves as a freshman, striking out 35 in 42.1 innings of work ... Earned second win of season with six innings versus Southern Miss ... Converted save opportunities against Ole Miss in last regular season series of year and again in SEC Tournament ... Also picked up a win and a save in Columbus Regional, working four innings during the tourney ... Ranked second in SEC with 12 saves as a sophomore, the third-most in a season in Bulldog history ... Went 3-3 with 4.17 ERA in 29 appearances ... Struck out career-high nine versus Arkansas-Little Rock ... Preseason All-America candidate as a junior (NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball) ... Compiled 2-5 mark in 17 appearances with seven starts, striking out 49 in 50.1 innings of work ... Threw career-high 7.0 innings vs. UT Martin.

High School: Four-year letterman and standout pitcher for coach Phil Clark at Germantown HS ... Earned 1998 Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association and Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State honors after helping lead the Red Devils to a 40-4 mark, state runner-up honors and a No. 18 national ranking (Baseball America) ... Posted an 8-2 record with a 1.17 ERA ... Recorded 77 strikeouts over 60 innings and tossed a pair of no-hitters ... Also played first base and batted .439 with seven home runs, 26 RBI and a .732 slugging percentage ...
