Indoor: Placed third in shot put at MT Invitational (2/9) with throw of 40-11.5 ... Placed fifth at Sun Belt Championships (2/24) in weight throw with distance of 45-9.25.
Outdoor: Threw discus 130-0 and hammer 79-5 at Sun Belt Championships (5/11).

Football:
Played in nine games in 2001 and was used mainly in short yardage and goal line situations ... Competed in seven games and earned three starts before suffering a season-ending knee injury against Louisiana-Lafayette in week seven in 2002 ... Competed in all 12 games in 2003, including four as a starter ... On the year he had 352 snaps, 29 knockdowns and a cumulative season grade of 76 percent.

NE Oklahoma A&M:
Started on same offensive line at NEOA&M with fellow Blue Raider Bill Brasch, who was also his roommate ... Helped lead NEOA&M to a 9-3 mark in 2000 ... Played for coach Dale Patterson ... Chose MT over Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Colorado.

High School:
Played at Catoosa HS where his team went 5-5 his senior year ... Voted All-State as senior and tabbed 5A Lineman of the Year ... Also earned All-Conference and All-District honors ... Played defensive end as well and led team with 12 sacks his senior year ... Played football for coach Pat McGrew ... Lettered in wrestling and track ... Top-ranked heavyweight his senior year ... Finished his career with 135-6 record ... Two-time regular season champion in wrestling and two-time state placer ... Four-time state qualifier in the discus ... Broke school record with throw of 171-6.5.
