High School: Played at Catoosa High School where his team went 5-5 his senior year ... Voted all-State as a senior and was tabbed the 5A Lineman of the Year ... Also earned all-Conference and all-District honors ... Played defensive end as well and led the team with 12 sacks his senior year ... Played football for coach Pat McGrew ... Lettered in wrestling and track ... Was the No. 1 ranked heavyweight his senior year ... Finished his career with a 135-6 record ... Was a two-time regular season champion in wrestling and a two-time state placer ... Was a four-time state qualifier as a discus thrower ... Broke the school record with a throw of 171.6 1/2 inches.
