Voted 2004 Third Team Preseason All-America by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, joining teammate Chase Swing on the squad.

2003 (Sophomore): Valuable righthander who assumed the closer's role for the Blue Raiders in mid-April ... Team-leader with 27 appearances, all in relief, picking up 11 saves and two wins in 51.1 innings while striking out 53 ... Moved into first place on the single-season saves list with 11 at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, and is also second on the career saves list ... Valuable member of bullpen that posted 4.58 ERA with 206 strikeouts in 224 innings, posting 13 of team's 33 victories ... Finished season tied for 24th in nation in saves with six others ... Tied for third in the SBC in opponent batting average (.214) ... Also tied for first in saves and fifth in appearances ... Allowed only eight of 25 inherited runners to score for season ... Suffered loss in another start, at Memphis, giving up two runs on five hits in six innings with three strikeouts ... Threw one shutout inning at East Tennessee and 2.1 shutout innings versus Western Kentucky ... Also got two outs versus Louisiana-Lafayette ... Got win with five shutout innings of relief versus Arkansas State, allowing one hit with five strikeouts ...
