Noteworthy: Made the move from "Will" to "Sam" linebacker in the spring where he is listed No. 2 behind Michael Woods entering fall camp.

2000: Saw action in nine games, including eight as a starter at "Will" linebacker ... Was eighth on the team in tackles with 43 stops, including 30 solos ... Also had four tackles for lost yardage, a sack (vs Murray State), a forced fumble and pass breakup ... Collected a career-high 10 tackles against Murray State to go with two stops behind the line of scrimmage ... Registered eight tackles in a win over Louisiana-Monroe, seven tackles against South Florida and six at Mississippi State ... Was in on 439 snaps on defense for the year (48.8 per game) ... Played a career best 69 plays against Louisiana Tech ... Missed the Connecticut and Louisiana-Lafayette games with an ankle injury.

1999: Was on schedule to redshirt, but progressed rapidly and the coaches elected to play him in game seven at Louisiana Tech ... Went on to play in five games, collecting eight tackles and one fumble recovery ... Had a season-high four tackles against UT Martin and two stops at Tech.

High School: Played for coach Ray Kenjura at Klein ... Led the team with 87 tackles to go along with three fumble recoveries and seven sacks his senior year as team finished 7-4 ... Named all-district ... Lettered two years in football and one in track ... Tallied 16 unassisted tackles in win over Conroe ... Also registered eight tackles, and three sacks against Baytown Lee (the quarterback he sacked was Eli Roberson who was rated one of the top 100 players in Texas and signed with Kansas State).
