with four each coming from Tennessee, Georgia, and California, three
from Florida, two from Alabama, and one each from Colorado, Louisiana, and South Carolina. Overall, 13 signees come from the high school ranks.

2005: Played in all 11 games as the principal placekicker and punter ... Earned second team all-conference honors as a punter after averaging a career-best 42.1 yards a punt and placing a personal-high 19 inside the opposition's 20-yard line ... Connected on just 7 of 16 field goals for the season but made all 26 of his extra point attempts ... Voted to the 2005 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Preseason Watch List ... Also on the Ray Guy Watch List for the nation's top punter ... Missed his first two field goals of the season against North Texas (25, 42) ... Had eight punts against Alabama and averaged an impressive 42.5 yards a boot, then averaged 44.1 yards in five attempts against North Texas ... Was named the Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after punting eight times for a 44.4-yard average and placing four punts inside the 20-yard line in win over Vanderbilt (put one just inside the one-yard line with 2:40 left in the game) ... Also hit the game-winning field goal with 6:41 to play in the game against the Commodores ... At FAU, Smith missed two field goals and had one blocked, but was able to put all three of his punts inside the Owl 20-yard line ... Averaged 47.0 yards a punt on six attempts against ULL and put two inside the opponents 20-yard line ... His 47.0 average went down as a tie for the eighth-most in a single-game at MT ... Connected on a 26-yard field goal in win over Arkansas State ... Made a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter against Louisiana-Monroe and just missed a 52 yarder with two seconds left that would have sent the game into overtime ... Had a 44.2-yard punting average at NC State on four attempts while registering a season long 59 yarder ... Also made one of two field attempts against the Wolfpack ... Punted eight times for a 40.7-yard average against Troy and put four inside the 20-yard line ... Punted for a 48.0-yard average at FIU while also connecting on a 27-yard field goal.

2004: Selected as one of 20 semifinalists for the prestigious Lou Groza Award ... Voted Second Team All-Sun Belt after making 15-of-17 field goals (8-for-9 at home, 7-for-8 on road) and averaging 39.9 yards per punt with 11 downed inside the 20 ... The 15 FG made are the second most in a single-season, as is the 88.2 conversion rate ... Hit seven straight field goals during one stretch, which ranked as the second longest streak in school history ... Led the Sun Belt Conference in field goals made, field goal percentage, and scoring by a kicker (was second overall in the league in scoring) ... Connected on first career field goal attempt in win at Akron, making a 28-yarder in fourth quarter to tie the contest ... Also punted three times at UA including one downed inside the 20 ... Booted two more field goals against Florida Atlantic ... Made 1-of-2 field goals (37 made), kicked off twice, and rushed 22 yards on fake punt at Louisiana-Lafayette ... Punted five times, including a 50-yarder, at North Texas ... Made only field goal attempt (37) versus Arkansas State ... Made all three field goal attempts (27, 39, 41) at Florida ... Also went 3-for-3 versus Louisiana-Monroe in the field goal department with makes from 26, 31, and 39 yards ... Punted seven times for 43.1-yard average against ULM including a career-long 61-yarder and four downed inside the 20 ... Made final field goal of the season, 27 yards, at Troy, and also kicked off twice.

2003: Played in all 12 games ... Was pressed into duty in the season opener against FAU due to the injury to Robert Billings ... Had nine punts against the Owls for a 38.7 average and placed two inside the 20-yard line ... Booted a career long 53-yarder versus FAU ... Served as the holder on all field goal attempts and extra points.

2002: Took a redshirt year.
