Is one of the fastest players on the field ... Is the cousin of Tennessee Titans linebacker Randall Godfrey ... Chose MT over Clemson, Auburn, and Mississippi.

2000: Played in all 11 games with most of his action coming on special teams ... Collected 13 total tackles and one blocked kick (punt vs Louisiana Tech) ... Had a personal best four tackles at Mississippi State and three each versus Connecticut, South Florida and Louisiana-Lafayette ... Against Louisiana Tech, Woods blocked a Bulldog punt two minutes into the game and returned it five yards for a touchdown ... It was the first blocked punt of Andy McCollum's head coaching career.

High School: Led Lowndes Co. to the Georgia Class 4A State Championship in 1999 ... Was named Class 4A All-State, All-Region I-AAAA and All-Area at Lowndes in 1999 ... Played outside linebacker and defensive back ... Excelled on special teams where he returned kickoffs and punts, but made a name for himself by blocking punts and field goals ... Blocked a total of five kicks in 1999 ... His biggest block came in the state semifinals against Northside Warner-Robbins when he knocked down a field goal try and returned it 80 yards for a touchdown ... Rated one of the fastest players in Georgia by a scouting combine ... Played for coach Milt Miller ... Also excelled in the 100 meters and anchored the 4X100 relay team for Lowndes' track program.
