Tabbed all-city by the coaches ... Was a team captain his senior year at Henry Clay High School and earned the squad's top senior award ... Earned MVP honors at the Pike County Bowl ... As a senior, Simpson threw for 2,711 yards and 32 touchdowns and completed 68 percent of his passes ... He also added 827 yards on the ground and seven scores ... In the first round of the playoffs in 2005, Simpson torched Whitley County by throwing for 314 yards and five touchdowns ...
