with four each coming from Tennessee, Georgia, and California, three
from Florida, two from Alabama, and one each from Colorado, Louisiana, and South Carolina. Overall, 13 signees come from the high school ranks.

2005: Started 10 of 11 games ... Finished third on the team with a career-best 29 receptions for 231 yards and a touchdown ... His 29 grabs went down as the most by a Blue Raider tight end since Steve Dark registered 36 in 1991 ... Did not catch a pass in the opener at Alabama, but came back against North Texas the following week with two receptions for 14 yards and had the same figures versus Akron ... In the win at Vanderbilt, Chicola reeled in three receptions for 21 yards including a nice one-handed grab on the game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter ... Collected one reception in win over Arkansas State ... Matched his career-high with four receptions for 39 yards in loss to Louisiana-Monroe ... Had three catches for 18 yards at NC State ... Set a Middle Tennessee record for a tight end with nine catches for 86 yards in the win at Troy ... Came up with the first touchdown reception of his career when he had a one-handed grab for a two-yard strike at FIU ... Went on to catch five passes at FIU.

2004: Played in every game as a true freshman and earned four starts ... Really progressed as the season went along and became a threat offensively once Jerrin Holt went out with an injury ... Had 14 receptions for 152 yards and all 14 came over the last seven games of the year ... The 14 grabs went down as the most by a true freshman tight end in the I-A era ... Reeled in a career-best four catches for 69 yards in a win over Utah State and grabbed three for 45 yards in a victory over Arkansas State ... Added three grabs against Louisiana-Monroe ... Had a career long reception of 36 yards in the win over Utah State.

High School: Helped lead The Bolles School to a 13-2 record in 2003 and a 14-1 mark in 2002 ... Bolles won the state title in 2002 ... Listed as one of the nation's Top 25 tight ends by a Florida publication ... Chicola was a third team all-city selection in 2003 after registering 20 receptions for 220 yards and three touchdowns ... Doubling as the team's punter, Chicola had an average of 45.3 yards his senior year ... In the first round of the 2003 playoffs, he had three catches for 85 yards including a 60-yard touchdown grab ... As a junior, Chicola had 13 catches for 185 yards and made the Top 100 Juniors List in the state of Florida ... A three-year starter in football who also lettered in basketball and baseball ... Played football for coach Corky Rogers.
