2000: Was moved to receiver after about a week working with the defensive backs ... Played in all 11 games (mainly on special teams), including one as a starter against UConn ... Was also the team's kickoff return man where he led the team with 15 returns for 292 yards ... Had three returns for 70 yards in a win over Louisiana Tech

High School: The two-time all-state selection led the Oakland Patriots to a 28-11 record over three years, including a 5A State Championship in 1998 and a semifinal appearance in 1999 ... As a senior he rushed for 484 yards and threw for 713 yards and nine touchdowns, while collecting eight interceptions and returning three for scores ... As a junior, Alsup hauled in 44 receptions for 952 yards and eight touchdowns, and recorded 23 catches for 295 yards as a sophomore ... Named the TSWA All-State athlete in 1999, while being tabbed Associated Press All-State as a receiver and a defensive back in 1998 ... Was also a three-time Daily News Journal All-County selection and two-time All-Region 4-5A pick ... Voted to the 5A All-Midstate first team as an athlete by The Tennessean in 1999 ... Was named to The Tennessean's 1999 Defensive Dream Team.
