with four each coming from Tennessee, Georgia, and California, three
from Florida, two from Alabama, and one each from Colorado, Louisiana, and South Carolina. Overall, 13 signees come from the high school ranks.

2008: Played and started in 11 games ... Had 28 total tackles to go with five tackles for loss, three sacks, and a pass breakup ... Led all defensive linemen with 589 snaps played, including a season-high 72 at Kentucky ... Earned 14 winning grades from the coaches, including five on special teams ... Graduated in August and will be enrolled in master's program this fall ... Collected four solo stops and a sack against Troy ... Had two tackles and a pass breakup at Kentucky ... Turned in four tackles in road loss to Arkansas State ... Did not play against FAU due to a calf injury ... Returned to the lineup against FIU and led all linemen with 49 snaps ... Had three tackles at Louisville and two stops to go along with a TFL at Mississippi State ... Turned in four stops and a TFL in win over ULM ... Had three tackles and a sack at WKU ... Had a sack in win over UNT.

2007: Saw action in 11 games and had 10 starts ... Had a career-best 21 tackles to go with three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery ... Played 535 total snaps including 66 against ULL ... Missed all of spring practice while recovering from an injury ... Started and played 45 snaps at FAU and collected three tackles and one tackle for loss ... Had two tackles in 61 snaps at Louisville ... Did not play at LSU due to an illness suffered on gameday ... Added a fumble recovery against WKU ... Turned in two tackles in win over FIU and added three stops against Virginia ... Had four tackles including 1.5 sacks in win over Memphis and collected two stops against ASU ... Collected three tackles and a sack at ULM and had two stops against ULL.

2006: Played in all 13 games and earned 11 starts ... Collected 19 total tackles on the year including six tackles for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery ... Came out of spring drills listed no. 2 at MIKE linebacker but switched to defensive tackle in preseason practice ... Played 29 snaps in win over FIU and finished with two tackles while earning a "winning performance" mark from the coaching staff on defense ... Made his first Blue Raider start at Maryland and tallied one tackle in 44 snaps and earned a "winning performance" ... Also started against Tennessee Tech and collected four stops while earning a second straight "winning performance" ... Did not have a tackle in 23 snaps at Oklahoma but had to leave the game early due to a mild concussion ... Was in on just 18 plays at North Texas and had one stop ... Did not have a tackle in 47 plays against Louisville ... Collected a sack at Louisiana-Monroe and earned a "winning performance" ... Forced a fumble at Louisiana-Lafayette to earn a second straight "winning performance" ... Had three tackles including one for loss of yards against FAU to earn a third consecutive "winning grade" ... Registered one tackle at Arkansas State ... Turned in a four-tackle effort at South Carolina ... Had two stops and 0.5 tackles for loss against Troy.

2005: Transferred to Middle Tennessee and had to sit out the year due to NCAA transfer rules.

East Carolina: Was a late addition to the 2004 class after initially making a verbal commitment to Northeastern ... Played as a true freshman in all 11 games (did not earn any starts) ... Registered 15 total tackles to go along with one sack (vs Tulane) and a pass breakup ... Had a season-high five tackles against Tulane and tallied two stops each against Wake Forest, Army, and Memphis.

High School: Despite missing a portion of his senior season for knee surgery, Hofacker had 60 tackles, six sacks, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery for a 13-2 Eagles team that reached the state semifinals in the 5-A Division II playoffs ... Allen High, about 30 miles north of Dallas, has an enrollment of over 4,000 ... Played varsity for three years and made first team all-district as a senior ... Played football for Coach Joe Martin.
