TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - It continues to be a season of firsts in 2009 for Middle Tennessee cross country. Two weeks after the men's team earned the program's first Sun Belt Conference Championship, Blue Raider Zamzam Sangau became the first female runner in school history to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country National Championships.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Five of Middle Tennessee's top cross country runners will compete Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala., at the 2009 NCAA South Regional hosted by the University of Alabama at Harry Pritchett Running Park with the men's race starting at 10 a.m. followed by the women's race at 11 a.m.

On a soggy, mud soaked field in northern Louisiana, the warmth of the October sun greets a crowd of collegiate male and female runners. After hundreds of hours of preparation, thousands of miles of travel, two and a half inches of rain, and a three hour delay, harriers from 11 different schools are finally ready to run the Sun Belt Conference Championships.

MONROE, La. - The slippery and wet conditions of Selman field in Monroe, La. were not enough to keep the Middle Tennessee men's cross country team from taking their first ever Sun Belt Conference title in the program's history.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - This Saturday, the Middle Tennessee cross country teams will travel to Sun Belt Conference Championships at the Chenault Golf Course in Monroe, La., with women's race beginning at 10 AM followed by the men's race at 11 AM.
