Shoeless performance helps win championship

On a soggy, mud soaked field in northern Louisiana, the warmth of the October sun greets a crowd of collegiate male and female runners. After hundreds of hours of preparation, thousands of miles of travel, two and a half inches of rain, and a three hour delay, harriers from 11 different schools are finally ready to run the Sun Belt Conference Championships.

MONROE, La. - The slippery and wet conditions of Selman field in Monroe, La. were not enough to keep the Middle Tennessee men's cross country team from taking their first ever Sun Belt Conference title in the program's history.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - This Saturday, the Middle Tennessee cross country teams will travel to Sun Belt Conference Championships at the Chenault Golf Course in Monroe, La., with women's race beginning at 10 AM followed by the men's race at 11 AM.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee men's cross country team defeated Chattanooga at the UTC Frontrunner dual meet between the two schools, Saturday at the Moccasin Bend race course in Chattanooga, Tenn. The Blue Raider women's team placed second.
